Olszewski, Leo
Organist. Teacher of music. Born in Poland. In 1892 came to New York City, where he taught music and was conductor of Harmonia Singing Society; former editor of "Kuryer Nowoyorski i Brooklynski." In 1893 teacher and organist at Blossburg, Pa.; in 1895 organist at St. Adalbert's parish, Buffalo, N. Y. and in 1897 at Transfiguration parish in Buffalo also. Founded Polskie Kolo Spiewackie (Polish Singing Circle); organized Kalina Singing Society; later conductor of The Polish Singing Alliance of America. Former president of the Polish Singers Alliance; later editor of Harmonia and editor of "Zgoda" in Chicago, Ill.
