Abramoski (Abramowski), Edward R.,
M.A. Coach-teacher. Born January 14, 1906 at Jeannette, Pa.; son of Peter and Clementine Pienczykowski. Studied at St. Stanislaus Parochial School at Erie, Pa. for 2 years and transferred to Wayne Public School where he completed the eighth grade. Attended East Junior and Senior High School from which he graduated in 1925. In 1925 he entered St. Stephen's College, now Bard College, at Annandale-on-the Hudson, N. Y. In 1926 he transferred to St. Lawrence University at Canton, N.Y. graduating with BA degree in 1929. Studied at Edinboro State Teachers College where he completed his requirements for certification and in February 1931 was appointed teacher and coach at Erie Technical High School. In the summers of 1931 and 1932 he attended Slippery Rock State Teachers College, School of Physical Education, and became athletic director at Erie Technical High School as well as coach of football, basketball and track. Attended evening and summer classes at the University of Pittsburgh where he received his M. Ed. degree in 1939. In 1938 married Bernice Surgo. Contributed articles to the Athletic Journal and Scholastic Coach. President, Erie Teachers Federation since 1941 in which capacity he still serves. Residence: 1128 - 25th St., Erie, Pa.
