Civic leader. Born in 1875 in Sulmierzyce, Poland. Came to U. S. in 1883 and settled in Chicago, Ill. In 1900 married Victoria Kubicka. In 1905 elected member of the executive office of the Polish Roman Catholic Union, and in 1909 elected president of said organization, and re elected in 1911 at the National Convention at Syracuse, N. Y. One of three Polish American delegates to the Grunwald Celebration, held in Cracow. Poland, in 1910. President of the Polish National Council in 1917. Elected alderman of Chicago in 1917 and re-elected in 1919, Elected delegate to the State Constitutional Convention of Illinois, 1922. Chairman of tho Democratic Party in Chicago, Ill. Since 1893 co-founder and member of St. John Kanty parish in Chicago. Member of P.R.C.U., P.N.A., Polish Alma Mater and Polish National Committee.
