Adamowski, Antonia.
Pianist. Born Feb. 22, 1868 in Lublin, Poland. Nee Szumowski; married in 1896 to Joseph Adamowski, cellist, who died in 1930. In 1898 came to U. S., where she was engaged as soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Former professor of piano in Conservatory of Music, Boston. Mass. During the first World War she and Madame Paderewski organized "The Friends of Poland Society." In Boston they collected over $500,000 for the Polish Relief. In 1922 she was hostess for Madame Sklodowska-Curie in Boston, Mass. Died August 1938 in Boston, Mass.
