Caroline "Carrie" (Marszal) Anasiewicz, a retired cook/tube maker, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010 at the home of her daughter with her loving family at her side at the age of 96.

Mrs. Anasiewicz, a resident of Swedesburg, was employed by the Budd Co. and James Lees and Sons, both formerly of Bridgeport.

She was a faithful member and the oldest member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church of Swedesburg. She was a member of the parish Rosary Society and The Polish Festival Committee, where she was noted for her delicious Sour Kraut. She was also a member of the Union of Polish Women Group #24.

She enjoyed crocheting and baking. Again, Carrie was well known for her cheesecakes and potato salad.

She enjoyed playing baseball with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Born in Swedesburg on Nov. 4, 1914, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Walania) Marszal and the widow of Henry M. Anasiewicz who died July 26, 1969.

Surviving is a daughter Dolores M. Barszowski of King of Prussia; daughter in-law Ann (Patorius) Anasiewicz; grandchildren: Donna Ketter, Barbara Goldberg, Carol Touhey, Martin Anasiewicz, Annette Volpe, Stephen Barszowski, Karen Mastrocola, Mary Orner and Matthew Anasiewicz; 13 grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Henry M. Anasiewicz; three brothers: Edward, Frank and Michael Marshall; and three sisters: Sister Mary Salvator, Mary Nowak and Emily Worrall.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010 at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Jefferson St., Swedesburg. Fr. Andrew McCormick, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bernard S. Gutkowski Funeral Home Inc., 305 Jefferson St., Swedesburg, Upper Merion Twp., or on Wednesday morning from 8:30 to 9:50 a.m. at the church, where the rosary will be recited by the members of the Rosary Society at 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Montgomery Home Care and Hospice, 25 W. Fornance St. Norristown, Pa. 19405.
