Barbara T. Ancharski, 67, of Woodring Road, St. Johns, passed away Tuesday morning at her home.
Born in HazIeton Nov. 8, 1939, she was the daughter of Theresa (Koziel) Baradziej, Drums, and the late Bernard Baradziej. She spent the past four years in Drums after moving from West Hazleton.
She was a retired medical transcriptionist for Hazleton General Hospital and Berwick Hospital, and was employed as an X-ray technician for Dr. Dessen.
Barbara was a member of St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, Conyngham, and was a member of the church choir. She was a volunteer teacher's aide at Drums Elementary School and was an avid reader. She enjoyed vacationing in Ocean City, N.J., had spent her summers there for the past eight years.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband of the past 47 years, Frank D. "Buddy" Ancharski; sons, Frank J. and his wife, Judy, Pittsburgh; Randy and his wife, Amy, Burlington, N.J.; and Jamie and his wife, Patti, Drums; grandchildren, Kyle, Eli, Tiffany, Caleb, Noah, Lauren and Randall Ancharski; many nieces, nephews and several cousins.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. John Bosco R.C. Church, Conyngham.
Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family in Transfiguration Cemetery, West Hazleton.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
