Schenectady - Mrs. Viola Opitz Andryszczyk, 76, of Sixth Street, Bellevue, formerly of Cutler Street, died Saturday, May 4, 2002 at St. Clare's Hospital after a long illness.

Born December 14, 1925 in Waterford, she was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Andryszczyk was a payroll clerk for General Electric in Schenectady for several years. She was a member of the Church of Saint Adalbert in Schenectady and its Altar Rosary Society.

Her husband, Chester E. Andryszczyk, predeceased her on August 17, 1992. She was predeceased by two brothers, Peter and Joseph Opitz and a sister, Stella Faluszczak.

Survivors include one son, Chester A. Andryszczyk of Schenectady; five daughters, Christine M. Palermo of Clifton Park, Mary Jane Haws and Joanne M. Burns, both of Schenectady, Julie A. Monini and Jennifer A. Andryszczyk, both of Rotterdam; a brother, Edward Opitz of Saratoga; 12 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday from the Feeley-Nuzback Funeral Home, 1 Mohawk Avenue, Scotia, NY followed at 11 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of Saint Adalbert in Schenectady. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Feeley-Nuzback Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Saint Adalbert Cemetery, Rotterdam. Contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308 or to the National Kidney Foundation of NE New York, 4 Airline Drive, Suite 102, Albany, NY 12205.
