NFCA installs Andrzejewski On Sept. 22, 2001
Polish National Union of America Secretary General John Andrzejewski will be installed as national president of the National Fraternal Congress at the NFCA's 115th annual convention in Orlando, Florida.
The date designated by the convention for the actual installation is Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001
Polish National Union President Edmund Kotula will be the installing officer. Other Polish National board members who will be attending the installation are: Stanley Kiska, Norman Nawrotski, Michael Wisniewski, Henry Wisniewski and Martin Wachna.
Andrzejewski's term is for one year during which time he will head the nine million member NFCA, a trade organization for approximately 88 fraternals in America.

Naperville, IL - The National Fraternal Congress of America (NFCA), the Association of America's Fraternal Benefit Societies, has announced the election of John C. Andrzejewski III, Secretary General of Polish National Union of America, Scranton, Pa., to the NFCA position of NFCA Chair of the Board. Andrzejewski was elected to the NFCA post at the association's annual convention, Sept. 19-22, in Orlando, Fla.
In his role, Andrzejewski will serve a one-year term in the highest NFCA office and represent 82 fraternal benefit societies. These fraternal benefit societies are not-for-profit membership organizations offering volunteer opportunities and social and networking activities, along with insurance and other financial products. All members of fraternal benefit societies come together in local lodges (sometimes called chapters, branches councils) - and more than 40,000 are in operation in big cities and small towns across the country.The Polish National Union of America (PNU), celebrating its 93rd year in 2001, has nearly 20,000 members, more than $24 million in assets and nearly $60 million of life insurance in force. PNU has 142 local lodges and operates in eleven states. In 2000, PNU demonstrated a commitment to its fraternal and community service programs, devoting more than $335,000 to these activities.
Andrzejewski worked as a file clerk with PNU during his college years and, after graduating from the University of Scranton in 1987, he began his professional career with the Price Waterhouse accounting firm in Morristown, N., from 1987 to 1988. In 1988, he returned to PNU as assistant secretary general. He was elected secretary general by the society's membership in 1991. The society's role as a religious and ethnic fraternal opened the door for Andrzejewski to be named to
the Supreme Council of the Polish National Catholic Church in 1991.Andrzejewski attained the Fraternal Insurance Counselor (FIC) designation in 1990 and served the Pennsylvania Fraternal Congress, a statewide organization of fraternal benefit societies, as president in 1996. He was elected as a Director of the NFCA board in 1997-2000 and served as Vice President 2000-2001. Andrzejewski will be the first-ever NFCA Chairman of the Board, a new position created following a restructuring of the association's governance. In his role, the NFCA chair will work the NFCA president (the highest staff position) to serve the NFCA membership, guide the actions of the board and develop strategic plans for the 115-year-old association of fraternal benefit societies.
Andrzejewski also serves as a member of the Join Hands Day Steering Committee, the National Board overseeing the work of America's Fraternal Benefit Societies' national day on America's calendar strategically targeted to build youth and adult partnership through community volunteering. In 2001, more than 100,000 people took part.
John and his wife, Julie, live in Elmhurst, PA, with their daughter Elizabeth. Andrzejewski is a 20-plus year veteran of the Elmhurst Roaring Brook Volunteer Fire Company and is currently serving on the board of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Services. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout m 1981.

Andrzejewski Elected Past NFCA ChairThe National Fraternal Congress of America (NFCA), the association of America's fraternal benefit societies, has announced the election of John C. Andrzejewski III, secretary general of the Polish National Union of America (PM) to the position of immediate past chair of the NFCA board of directors. Andrzejewski was elected to the NFCA post at the association's annual convention, Sept. 25-28, in Indian Wells, California.
In his role Andrzejewski, who was chair of the NFCA board from 2001 to 2002, will serve in an advisory capacity and will continue to represent the NFCA's 78 fraternal benefit societies. Andrzejewski was originally elected a director of the NFCA board in 1997.
Andrzejewski started his career with the PNU in 1984, as a file clerk during his college years.
After graduation from the University of Scranton and employment at Price Waterhouse, he returned to PNU as assistant secretary general. He attained the fraternal insurance counsellor (FIC) designation in 1990 and was elected secretary general in 1991.

I have been a member of the Polish National Catholic Church all of my life and have been involved in various activities of St. Stanislaus Cathedral parish. I am also a member of the YMS of R, Branch #1. Currently I serve the church and Spojnia in dual role. As Secretary General, I have the honor of participating-as a member of the Supreme Council of the Polish National Catholic Church. As a member I have served the church in various capacities including the 2002 Pre-Synod Committee, web site development and the Budget and Finance Committee.Civic Activities
Outside of church activities mentioned above, I participated in many civic activities. The first is Scouting. I attained the rank of Eagle Scout with a Bronze, Silver and Gold Palm. I also received my scouting God and Country award.Another civic activity that I am involved with is volunteer fire fighting. I am a member of the Elmhurst Roaring Brook Volunteer Fire Company. I have been an active member for 23 years. In that time I was a trustee for six years, Secretary-Treasurer for one year and Secretary for one year. Currently I am serving as a line officer
in the position of Lieutenant.Along with the above, I served as township auditor from 1969 through 1995.
Education
I graduated from North Pocono High School in 1983 with honors through the accelerated program. Upon graduation I was accepted to attend college at the University of Scranton.Upon entering college, my field of study began to focus on accounting, with the result being a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. I graduated with honors in May 1987 with Q.P.I. of 3.6 (Index4.0). My scholastic achievement was recognized through my induction into the National Honor Society in Business Administration and the National Collegiate Honor Society.
Work Experience
In 1984 I started my career with the Polish National Union of America. At first, I started as a file clerk and also helped part time in the Straz printery. Soon after establishing new filing system for the member records. I became involved with the initial efforts to computerize the bookkeeping and member record files. In the spring of 1987 I left the PNU in order to intern as a staff accountant for Price Waterhouse. This led to a full time position which expanded my first hand knowledge of accounting and tax issues. Although being promoted by Price Waterhouse, I resigned to begin work with Spojnia as Assistant Secretary General.
I worked as Assistant Secretary General from: 1988 to 1991. During this time I was instrumental in computerizing almost all functions of the office including the supervision of the installation of our computer networking equipment. I also worked hand in hand with Spojnia, Inc. My duties with regard to Spojnia, Inc. included computerization of their bookkeeping and formulating monthly financial reports.In 1990 I successfully completed the course work required to attain a Fraternal Insurance Counselor (FIC) designation. The FIC designation is equivalent to being a commercially licensed insurance agent.
I have been serving the membership of the Polish National Union of America for twelve years as Secretary General. During this time I have been instrumental in the development of many new programs, such as the Juvenile Benefit Program, the Peace of Mind Program, and the Opportunity Upgrade Program.
Each day a number of responsibilities are placed upon my shoulders in fulfillment of our Constitution requirement. Along with this come the added responsibilities of insuring the membership is served to the best of the ability of the Society. We face a low interest rate environment, increasing regulation and competition, along with a changing market, l have been highly involved in responsibilities which demand attention, as they are vital to the survival of the Polish National Union of America.
Fraternal Service
l always believed that one gets out of something what one puts into it. Maintaining this philosophy, I have been highly involved in the various umbrella groups that the Polish National Union is a member of. Regarding the Pennsylvania Fraternal Congress, I was elected as President in October 1995. l served one year in this position and continue to be involved with the Board of Directors as their representative to the National Fraternal Congress of America. l also assist on various committees.On the national level, l was elected to a three-year term as Director for the National Fraternal Congress. While on the board, I have been assigned to various committees including the Investment Committee and the Youth Initiative Committee. l also served as chair of these committees.
My term as a director was set to expire in September 2000. However prior to this the members of the Nominating Committee asked me to consider running for the office of First Vice President. This commitment brought with it another three year term on the Board of the NFCA and the honor of representing the Polish National Union of America as Chair of the Board of the National Fraternal Congress. With the approval of our Board of Directors, I submitted my name and was elected in September 2000. l served as Chair of the Board from September 2001 through September 2002. Currently l am completing my three-year term as the Immediate

Andrzejewski III, secretary general of the Polish National Union of America (PNU), Scranton, Pa., has completed his term as immediate past chair of the NFCA Board.
Andrzejewski advanced to the position of immediate past chair of the NFCA Board of Directors at the association's annual convention in 2002. He was elected NFCA Chair of the Board at the association's annual meeting in 2001, having previously served as vice-chair of the board from 2000-2001 and as a director from 1997-2000.
