Jablonowski, Peter Boleslaus (Appleton)
Athlete, professional baseball player. Born in Terryville, Conn., May 20, 1904. Started his career as a baseball player at the age of 16 when he was a student at Terryville High School. He played a position of shortstop on his school team, and later changed to pitcher. Graduate of Michigan University, Ann Arbor, Mich., where he played on the varsity baseball team. As a member of Univ. of Michigan team he was selected as one of the ten best baseball players in the country. His professional baseball career he started with the Waterbury team of the Eastern League. In 1927 he became a pitcher of the Cincinnati Reds. In 1930 he played for the Cleveland Indians, and the next two years he played on the Newark team of the International League. Since 1936 he is a pitcher of the Washington team.
