Kolabra, John
(Oct. 1, 1888 - )
World War l soldier

No matter what sacrifices he made in his military service, the United States, to which he came in 1912, honored John Kolabra with citizenship papers on Oct. 1, 1919, in the federal courthouse at Scranton, Pa., for having served his country from July 6, 1917, to May 16, 1919. It is written in his petition for naturalization (No. 9998, Vol. 40, p. 246, and Ancestry.com) that he came from (Ratie ?), Poland, and worked in the coal mines of Dickson City, Pa., after the war. It remains the only record of John Kolabra.

The search of records on both sides of the Atlantic failed to produce any other information. We must do better to know all those who came before us to defend this nation's liberty.
