LIVED HERE FIFTY YEARS

Death of Mr. Leopold Kolipinski -- Arrangements for the Funeral

From: The Washington Post, Apr 13, 1900 p. 12

Leopold Kolipinski, a native of Xious, Poland, who for nearly fifty years past had resided in Washington, died at his late home, 631 I street northwest on Wednesday evening. Mr. Kolipinski was one of the oldest residents here, and was favorably known by a large circle of friends. He was a cabinet-maker by occupation, but retired from business about twelve years ago, when he held a position in the Treasury Department. Later he conducted a restaurant at Fourth and K streets northwest. He had long been an invalid, and for several years past had lived with his son, Dr. Louis Kolipinski, his wife having died a number of years ago.

Mr. Kolipinski was a member of the Knights of Pythias, and for thirty years past had also been affiliated with the Odd Fellows. Rev. Father Glaab of St. Mary's Church will conduct funeral services at the home at 10 o'clock to-morrow morning and the interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery. Pall-bearers will be chosen from among his associates in the two organizations to which he belonged. The interment will be private. Besides the son, Dr. Louis Kolipinski and a daughter, Mrs. Emelie Weiss, also survives.
