L. DENNIS KOZLOWSKI
Dennis Kozlowski, a leading business executive in the United States and around the world, has had an exceptional tenure at the helm of Tyco International Ltd., where he began his career in 1976. Under his leadership, the Company has grown from a $20 million (revenues) corporation to a multinational diversified manufacturing and service company. Today, Tyco holds strong leadership positions in electrical and electronic components, undersea telecommunications systems, fire protection and electronic security systems, flow control valves and medical products. Tyco operates in more than 100 countries with sales in the year 2000 approaching $30 billion. Since Mr. Kozlowski was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 1993, the market capitalization of Tyco has increased from $1.5 billion to approximately $90 billion today.
Mr. Kozlowski has a strong background in operations. Among his various positions with the Company, he served as President of Tyco's Fire Protection, Flow Control and Disposable Products businesses.
In 1987, Mr. Kozlowski was appointed to the Tyco Board of Directors and was named President and Chief Operating Officer of Tyco in 1989. He has been Chief Executive Officer since July 1, 1992 and became Chairman on January 1, 1993. Prior to joining Tyco, Mr. Kozlowski held various managerial positions with SCM Corporation in New York City and Cabot Corporation in Boston, Massachusetts.
A graduate of Seton Hall University, where he is a member of the Board of Regents, Dennis Kozlowski sits on the Board of several New York Stock Exchange companies and charitable and educational organizations.
