MATZICK, V. ( 1806 - ? )Tailor. Only time will tell whether V. Matzick, who arrived in New York, September 26, 1835, left any other sign of his travels in the United States. He was a 29-year-old Polish immigrant from Warsaw, Poland, when he boarded an American packet, H. Allen, in London, England, probably with other Poles who fled after the Polish uprising several years earlier, and sailed to New York. The master of the packet, forerunner of the Yankee clipper, was H. Wilson.
