Felician Order. Teacher. Supervisor. Provincial. Born May 31, 1870 in Klnowka-Pelplin, Poland. Daughter of Valentine and Johanna Kurek. Came with her parents in 1874 to Buffalo, N. Y. Studied at St. Stanislaus School, Buffalo; Holy Angels Academy, Buffalo, and in 1888 graduated from the Seminary of the Felician Sisters, Detroit, Mich. Teacher in the various parochial schools from 1891-1913. Supervisor of parochial schools from 1913-1920. Provincial of Detroit Province from 1920-1926; and from 1926 1933 in Warsaw Province, Poland. The following schools were opened and organized during her career as Provincial-superior in U.S. and Poland: 1921, Resurrection School, Detroit, Mich.; 1922, St. Andrew School, Detroit, Mich.; 1923, Corpus Christi School, Detroit, Mich.; 1924, St. Louis King School, Detroit, Mich.; 1926, Our Lady Help of Christians School, Detroit, Mich.; 1926, St. Helen School, Detroit, Mich. From 1926-1933 six schools in Poland: Kalisz, Wizajny, Biala Rawska, Wawer, Widawa, and Rzgow. Returned to U.S. in 1938.
