Borski, Darci
Congratulations Darci Borski
U.S. Congressman Robert Borski's daughter, Darci Borski, will be heading for the University of Virginia on a full scholarship. Borski, one of the most dominant girls' soccer players in area history and a senior forward from Nazareth Academy High School in Northeast Philadelphia, also visited Penn State, Connecticut and Clemson. Ciemson was her second choice. According to Darci, she wants to play in the Atlantic Coast Conference because its more competitive. Therefore, it came down to choosing Virginia & Clemson. The distance was also a big factor. Virginia is only five hours away. Clemson is 14 hours away. Another reason for choosing Virginia was that Darci has been a teammate of several of the Virginia players on national and regional teams. April Heinrichs, Virginia's coach, coached Borski during one of her three stints with the under-16 U.S. national team. Borski, whose ultimate goal is to play in the 2000 Olympics, finished her career at Nazareth with 100 goals.
Congratulations are extended to Darci Borski from the Polish American Congress, Eastern Pennsylvania District and the entire Polonia, wishing her much success in her future endeavors. Sto Lat!
