Borzecki, Wladyslaw
Editor. Born Nov. 6th, 1899 in Lwow, Poland; son of Wladyslaw and Jadwiga (Kostrakiewicz) Borzecki. Educated in the primary and secondary schools of Lwow. Graduate of gymnasium (high school) in Nowy Targ, Poland (1917); studied law in the University of Cracow. Served in the Polish Army from 1918 to 1922. From 1923 to 1926 acted as bank clerk for Zwiazek Spolek Zarobkowych Bank, New York Branch; 1923-24 editor of "Kuryer Narodowy," a daily once published in New York City; 1923-1933 conducted a private school of music with over 120 pupils teaching piano and harmony; appeared in several solo recitals on the stage and also over the radio. From July 17, 1933 to date associate editor of "Nowy Swiat," a Polish daily published in New York City. During 1941-42 president of Polish Pro Arte Club, New York City. In 1937 and 1938 director of music in the Polish Art Center in New York City. From 1923 to 1939 American correspondent for "Ilustrowany Kurier Codzienny" of Cracow, Poland. Married Gizelle Mrok, March 2, 1941. Residence: 237 East 20th Street, New York City.
